# Your company page should answer what a homeowner asks before they call.

A homeowner has three garage door companies open in three tabs, and they all look the same. Before they call, they want to know a few plain things. Do you come out to their town? Do you fix openers as well as springs? Can they book online? If your page does not say, the next tab might. An AI assistant reading about you has the same problem: it can only repeat what is written somewhere it can read.

The Company profile app gives your company a public page on Garage Door Science that answers those questions, in a form people and assistants can both read.

## What goes on the page

Each of these shows only if you fill it in:

- **A tagline and a short About,** in your own words.
- **Your phone, website and online booking link.**
- **Your service area,** one city and state per line.
- **Your services, the brands you install and service, and the languages you speak,** picked from lists.
- **The year you started,** and **links** to where homeowners already find you, such as your Google, Facebook, Yelp or BBB page.

If you would rather not start from a blank page, Draft with AI writes a first version from your notes. Read every line before you save it.

The page says plainly that its details come from your company. License and insurance read "Not verified yet". You can send your license or a listing from the same page for Garage Door Science to check by hand.

## Three copies of the same facts

Each profile is published three ways, all built from the one list you filled in, so they cannot disagree:

- **The page a homeowner reads,** at garagedoorscience.com/pros/ and your address.
- **A plain Markdown copy** of the same page, the same words without the design around them.
- **Structured data,** labels written for software to read rather than people. It names your company as a HomeAndConstructionBusiness. Schema.org, which defines those labels, says a HomeAndConstructionBusiness is a LocalBusiness that provides services around homes and buildings. Your service area goes in as the geographic area where a service or offered item is provided.

## No borrowed stars

The structured data carries no star rating and no reviews copied from other sites. Google's rules for review snippets say: "Don't aggregate reviews or ratings from other websites." They also say that if the entity that's being reviewed controls the reviews about itself, their pages that use LocalBusiness or any other type of Organization structured data are ineligible for star review feature. So your reviews stay where they were written. Put that page under your links, and a homeowner can read them there.

## Publish it

Until you choose Save and publish, only you can see the profile. Once it is published, its address is locked so printed QR codes keep working; to change it, ask from the same page and Garage Door Science changes it by hand. A Take profile down button takes it off the site again.

## Try this

Open [Company profile](/developers/branding). The page opens on your branding: save your branding there first, and the profile editor appears below it. Then fill in your service area and services, since those answer the first two questions a homeowner has, and publish. Then open your page and read it as a homeowner would. The page needs you signed in as your company's owner, on a plan that includes it. If you are signed out, the link opens the sign in page, and once you are in it takes you straight to Company profile.
