# LiftMaster code 1-2: the door won’t close because a sensor wire is shorted

## The door won’t close because a sensor wire is shorted

Somewhere along the sensor wiring, two wires touch or are connected the wrong way round. A staple pinching the wire is a common cause.

**Check this first, then a pro.** Check the sensor wire wherever it is stapled or joined. Replace a damaged piece of wire, or have a pro do it.
