How long will your garage door last? HomeAdvisor says most garage doors last 15 to 30 years, and a steel door 15 to 20, with regular lubrication and rust control. A standard spring is rated for about 10,000 cycles. At four cycles a day, that is about seven years. A broken spring is not a repair you do yourself. Call a technician. Upkeep is the part you control.
