Welcome to Tech Time with A+ Garage Doors. I'm Zach. Let's get started. Has this ever happened to you? You try to close your door and it only goes down a couple of inches. Let's diagnose why that's

happening. Most common reason a door won't close is due to these sensors at the bottom of your tracks. As we can see, this green light is flashing. that indicates that the sensor is either misaligned or is not receiving a signal from the other sensor. If that yellow light is on and solid, it indicates that the sensor is receiving power and sending a signal to the other side.

Since the yellow or sending sensor has a solid light on, the problem in this case is determined as an alignment issue. Now that the green light is on, one other thing that we need to check and adjust is the range to ensure that as the door comes down, it is going to stay aligned. As we can see on this one, when we push it out this way, that light turns off or flashes. So, we want to make an adjustment to center it so that we can move it back and forth, up and down, and ensure that that light stays on. As we can see, our sending sensor is pointed more upward rather than straight across.

This can lead to a poor range of the sensors. If we can move this sensor down and make it level to the ground and parallel to the door, that gives us a good base to align our receiving sensor. Now that we have created a good base with our sending sensor, we can verify range by coming to our receiving sensor, wiggling it back and forth, up and down to verify that that light does not flash. Step three is to test the garage door system to ensure that it closes properly. Now that we have fixed alignment and range, if this does not fix your garage door, give us a call.

We'll fix it today the A+ way.
